A practical, hands-on programme designed to build confident and responsible small powerboat and RIB handling skills. Training is planned to combine on-the-water sessions aboard the school's RIB at Ocean Marina Pattaya with supporting classroom theory. Recreational boaters, aspiring marine professionals, boat owners and international visitors who want to develop practical powerboat skills in a professional training environment. Suitability is confirmed individually on enquiry.
What you'll cover
Practical Powerboat Handling
Close-quarters manoeuvring, berthing, coming alongside, high-speed handling and turning in a range of conditions.
Boat Safety & Seamanship
Pre-departure checks, safety equipment, rope work, anchoring and good seamanship practice.
Basic Navigation
Charts, buoyage, tidal awareness, passage planning fundamentals and position fixing.
Emergency Procedures
Man overboard recovery, engine failure, fire awareness, towing and calling for assistance.
This course is presented as planned training. Marine Certification School is applying to become an IYT Partner School; approval has not yet been granted. Certification, assessment arrangements, fees and dates will be confirmed directly with each student.
